Nefé’s Favourite And Biggest Performance At HEC Paris

On The Talk Shop Podcast, Nefe spoke about her HEC Paris MBA experience. She mentioned one of her best moments being when she performed for a crowd of 1500- her largest audience to date. This was part of the MBA Tournament (MBAT), also known as the MBA Olympics, where she was also on the organizing committee, the female basketball team, the female tennis team, and one of the HEC Dance Competition choreographers. During this Battle of the Bands, on the night where she had started to lose her voice from all the activities and many band members dropped out- they were down to a lead singer (Nefé), a backup singer, and a keyboardist, Nefé performed Ain’t No Mountain High Enough , Get Lucky , Empire State Of Mind, and Live Your Life, which is a single off her Smile EP. A saxophonist classmate and a rapper staff member joined at the last minute to elevate the performance. There’s no question that Nefé stole the crowd; she commanded the room with an initial slow song, a ballsy move, and continued to build the tempo all through until she finished with her single, where she taught the crowd the chorus so they could sing along. The crowd went WILD. It was honestly a night to remember. While her performance got them to second place (which was a big deal considering they were going against full bands with drummers, guitarists, etc.), her performance was so electric that the band that earned first place congratulated her, and the general feedback from the attendees of the tournament was monumental! We have some photos and videos to share, and honestly, you had to be there!
